It's December 5

(You're probably thinking what's with this day)

My Photography. My blog was meant only for my photographs to be exposed, but seeing my old personal notebook filled with short stories and meeting other bloggers . . . I told myself that I should write. Stuff.

I created a different blog so I can write all the things that I want to, there, but ended up writing everything here (in my main blog).

I've been a period addict, a comma addict, a semi-colon addict and the most recent . . . an em-dash addict.

Besides the photography related posts, I posted articles to inspire at the beginning of my blogging journey, but alas I ran out of motivational articles to write. However, my adventure didn't stop there; after hunting for ideas for a couple of days . . . I found a new one—Book Reviewing! My reviewing of books went well but I realized that I wasn't ready to review books or even write (!) so I stopped.

But just a few days after I stopped writing I wrote a personal article. Since then, the articles I only post are only relating to my photography and some of my unforgettable experiences here on earth.

I still posted few book reviews and some inspirational articles and will probably post some more but in the mean time I will only post those articles I am comfortable with and not the ones beyond my capacity *Haha* because a lot of times I posted articles without sense and with a lot of mistakes—my mistakes won't fit into this article if I break it down.

Ah, I had so many moments here that I won't forget; most were wonderful but numerous of them were embarrassing. But either way I'm still thankful for this blog—that it has been part of my bio.

Thanks to everyone who tirelessly read every article I posted from those without sense and with a lot of typos and to the ones with sense. Thanks to the other bloggers whom I shared my blogging related questions, thoughts and worries and for answering them!
Happytus*Cheers*

P.S. I know I haven't been posting lately and it's because I haven't gone outside. And outside is where I get most of my ideas.

New Year

Happy new year to everyone . . . that has the same birthday as I do! This year, for me, is one of the best for the reason that, various superb things happened to me.

But before a new year starts for me, I'm going to reminisce a few of the wonderful things that befell on me.

Last year I did a countdown when it was a week before my birthday, and now, I'm doing it again! Tara! Let's go back to yestermonths!

I discovered that Hunger Games was going to be a movie early this year, so I read the first book and got totally hooked in the whole series!

It's the blogger logo but I changed the "B" to "3" so it'll fit the whole countdown theme! I created a blog December last year, blogging has been part of my life since then.

Another memorable thing that occurred to me this year was when I learnt how to drive a bicycle! Ah, that night was truly memorable! Click here & here if you want to read my biking experiences!

The photo's blurred (in a good way) but it's a photo I excitedly took while I was inside an airplane while waiting for take-off four or five months ago! It was only my second time to ride a plane that's why I still got excited!

Thank you Father for giving me a wonderful and an unforgettable year. Though some days this year it was hard to thank You we must recite 1 Thessalonians 5:18 and just trust in You, and Your plans for I know that Your plans are what is best for us!

That's all! Hope you had a nice time reading my looking backs!

P.S. This isn't my new year article! I mean it is, but not my new year for all article!

Thank You!

It's usual for me to buy a book or two once a month. It was usual for me to eat food that tastes good—but still complain. It was usual for me to hate studying for all it causes me is distress. It was usual for me to grumble for the reason that I cannot find my stuff.

But when I enter and buy a book in a bookstore, then go out to the streets and see children—children who don't know what reading is . . .

When I eat food and grumble because I want to eat something else, then see children who would rejoice their hearts out when you give them a small sundae cone . . .

When I get tired of studying and tell myself that I don't want to study anymore, then see children in the streets who work their whole minds and beings off just to have something to eat at the same time to pay their school bills . . .

When I complain easily because I can't find my stuff, and accuse people that they hid them; then I see people who haven'tand will not see the wonderful world our Father had made, yet they don't accuse Him why He made them that way . . .

People like them makes me cherish my books more. They make me satisfied with everything there is to eat. They make me feel like I'm the luckiest guy in the world for all I have to do is study and not work. And they have taught me to appreciate and look at the brighter side of life.
Thank you Father for I am what I am, and thank you for opening my eyes and making me satisfied with all I have.
Thank you Father for all the blessings and blessings in disguise. Thank you Father for making me appreciate what I have, though sometimes, I seek vanity, I know you will always lead me back.

All I can say is: Thank You Father!

Today, My Life Will Begin

I once was used to reading big words, reading with big fonts, and answering with big letters. I was once used to reading with big pictures beside. Now, the big words I once was reading are now smaller. Fewer pictures and more small words. Before, I only answer equations with numbers; now, why are letters included?

Oh, no, it's getting harder. Before they were only millions, now, they are hundreds of millions and billions!

They are now trickier, more challenging, super mind-testing and most of all—harder.

But besides all the distress, they say this is the most fun year, I guess I have to wait and see! Today, Monday, it will begin. Today, My life begins . . .

as a highschool student!

"The old has passed away; behold, the new has come." ~ Corinthians 5:17

Silence...

Not so long ago, I've been longing to read a book. But it seems that I can't; and it's because I can't find solitude . . .

I've been longing for silence, but I can't find it inside our house, not even outside. I could hear dogs barking, loud musictelevisionsmotorcycles' engines roaring.

I couldn't stand it; so I searched for a quiet place. Searching here and there . . . I found none. I was hopeless, accepting the fact that I need to live with the noises around me. But the time when I was about to go backI found one,

I found myself standing on our roof. Our rusty roof. I still can hear some annoying sounds but the relaxing chirps of the birds are overpowering the irritating noises below.

So I went back to our house, grabbed a small chair, grabbed the book I want to read, my iPod, and my camera. Yes, I am writing this article on top of our house!

I can finally read peacefully.

After four hours of non-stop  reading, I noticed that the sun was going down. I still read until it was dark enough to not see a word.

To make my long story short, I finished the book. And my solitude experience was so amazing; to sit down read and enjoy your alone time is so . . . relaxing! Good thing it didn't rain.

I even got my first photograph of a bird.
Sorry if you can't see the bird!

Sin. You Liar. Ugh. I Didn't Know. PORK!

I want to hide. I have committed a sin. I want to hide from  God.  But I know He forgives sinners. And it's not my intention anyway. Someone just tricked me into eating pork. I confess all my sins. Sorry Lord!

reading

I am currently reading "The Tomorrow Code" by Brian Falkner.
It's about three people receiving messages from the future. Well, it has a lot of science since it's a Sci-Fi Book.
I am kinda getting bored, though. I don't like science. But it is nice; it's just my schedule that's why I don't have time to read it.

eating

I haven't been eating anything special or Delicious. Nothing, really. But I would like to share that I have been convicted to not eat eat pork a long, long time ago; since in the Bible, it is said that it's an unclean food. Sadly, I ate pork today, May 30, 2012. Because my brother tricked me and told me that it was BEEF! Naive, I was. I didn't noticed that it was PORK! Lord forgive me . .  .

listening

Just saw the music video of "Vision of Love" by Kris Allen and yeah, I like it.

wondering
Wondering, nothing much, actually.

feeling

Sad because I ate pork. Not sad, dismayed. Angry at myself (I guess) because I ate pork.

wanting

A lot. I want to read, to study . . .

trying

I am trying to study without getting distracted. And tomorrow I will try to ride a bicycle! My cousin will teach me!

anticipating

Anticipating for the results from the competition I joined. Anticipating for The Dopple Ganger Chronicles: The Great Mogul Diamond by GP Taylor (it's a book). The release is this September!

What do you call what I just did? I personally don't know.

MY HOMEWORK: Autobiography & Gerunds

Hi I am Dan Galman, I am thirteen years old, homeschooled, and I am proud of it. I am into blogging and writing. Actually, I am writing a novel galvanized by my grandfather's childhood. I am also into photography. I am still learning, though. But I really enjoy taking photographs of animals, sceneries and most especially people.
Sample shots
The actual size is bigger. I only made the pictures smaller due to copyright issues.
One of my avocations are reading, I read when I am companionless, when I want to be companionless or whenever I want to unwind. When I read I experience luxury, gusto, anything you want to label it as long as it means relaxing. I also go to a different world; and that is why I genuinely adore reading. It makes me forget about anything and everything for awhile.

Besides reading I draw and sketch. I draw a lot more before than these days, though. When I was still young our house was filled with my random drawings of animals, sceneries, Woody, SpongeBob, Patrick (Yes I am a fan of Woody, SpongeBob, Patrick and everything in between),  and a lot of portraits. But now I seldom draw the traditional way because a year or two ago I have found a new hobby that is still related to sketching and drawing and it is drawing and editing photos on the computer. I am actually illustrating a children's book with my fellow school mate.
In short I have a lot of activities I draw, play, I study, do computer, write, blog, take photographs, read and do everything that is in between!

Happy Mother's Day!

I just want to greet every single mother on this globe a Happy Mother's Day!
All of you are blessings from God, and us children, we all know that all of  you are more precious than any expensive jewelry we can ever obtain in this world.

"A MOTHER of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies."
~Proverbs 31:10

(April 30, 2012) April-icous

She's quirky, crazy, fun, kid at heart. Although she's kind of old to play outside our house or even inside she still plays. As I said 'kid at heart.' A very passionate and caring sister (sometimes).

I can't remember how we met but ever since my brother, her, her sister and I always play. When we were kids she and her sister use barbies and my brother and I use action figures. We make their houses out of clay, wood or any thing, then we will see whose house looks more fancy and expensive.

We play "pikit mata", you simply cover the it's eyes and the it will try to find us, it's like marco polo. We also play hide and seek around our house, they live upstairs and we live down. Our house has these doors that will lead you outside or in another one's house. That's why it's cool to play in our house.

What else, we play a lot especially during vacations with our other cousins and we always have a good time. Right now we still play "pikit mata" but seldom because we're too lazy and not that active, but we cook meals or desserts and other stuff especially now because it's summer and we don't have school.

Anyways, Happy Birthday Ate Kaye! May God Bless you more and choose the choices God wants you to do.

(April 28, 2012) April-icous

My dad and I have a lot in common, we are into gadgets and other techie stuff. My dad tells me about the latest, and I also tell him about the latest of the latest. We are also into photography. I don't know why I really got into photography, but when I asked for my own camera, my dad bought me one. On my birthday.

Anyway, the night when he gave it to me, we stayed outside our house for quite a while and explored what my camera has and what can it do. He also taught me some tips that are really helpful and I also shared to him what I've learned.

My dad is very supportive, he supports me and my brother every time. Although for us to get that something we have to earn it. It's like we have to work for it not just grab it instantly without doing something. But one of the main thing we do to get something we want is to be P.A.T.I.E.N.T. if my dad sees that we're not patient we have to wait lo-o-o-o-onger. It's so wonderful to not be spoiled, although sometimes you wish to be, you'll realize that if they do they're hurting you in the long run.

I am writing this article because it's my dad's Birthday! Happy Birthday Dad!

I'm very thankful for my dad and my mom! Are you?

(April 26, 2012) April-icous!

When I was a kid, my cousins and I scare each other, joke each other, and play active games on the streets. I play with one of my favorite cousins and my other cousins. A few years later since this particular cousin of mine and her brother's old enough to not play active games, so, we just watch scary, funny or any  movies in their house and talk about the things that catches our attentions.

Another few years later she graduated and got a job, and we only see each other on weekends; So we just talk about the interesting stuff and things that has happen while we weren't together and while watching T.V.

Since I too is getting busy, we no longer see each other . . . even on weekends. We only talk to each other using our hands and through the keyboard. That's why once a month or once every two months my busy cousins and I meet and bond; we watch movies, eat, etc. . .

Time is really precious and you've got to spend it wisely. The last time I saw her was last month when we watched "The Hunger Games." I'll see her this Thursday til Friday because we have planned to watch "The Avengers" with our other cousins. Hurray! Though she lives literally behind us, our schedules doesn't meet.

I can't remember how we met, but I know for 13 years she's been one of my trustworthy, supporting, loving friend, "Excuse-in," aunt, tita and cousin. In the times when no one's there to keep me company, she's just a tweet away and she'll keep me company. Although we don't see each other often these days we will see each other soon.

Let's see how well I know her
  1. Favorite Colour: Pink!
  2. Favorite Movie: Confessions of a Shopaholic? She has a lot. .
  3. Favorite Cartoon Show: Phineas and Ferb!
  4. Favorite Sitcom: Zac & Cody and Lizzie Mcguire
  5. Favorite Song: A lot but one is "Unwritten!"
  6. Quote in life: Live your life to the FULLEST!
  7. Favorite Book: The Hunger Games, Memoirs of a Geisha, 5 people you'll meet in heaven?
  8. Favorite Food: Anything!

But the reason why I am making this article is it's her birthday today, 26th, and this is the only present I can give her since I'm still studying and don't have a source of income, anyways, Happy Birthday to my prettiest, (Birthday mo eh! Kidding!) Tita and Excuse-in, Ate Apple!

HAPPY
BIRTHDAY

1 of 2 Our Trip: Off to Penaranda!

________________________________________________________________
Here in the gasoline station near our house at exactly Quarter to One. The price of gasoline is much more expensive than the last time we went to one.

It's almost 1:00 am, and we're here on our first NLEX Toll Gate! I open a window on my side and stare at the cemented road that will be green pastures soon.

I'll miss the city. I'll be back tomorrow, though. Just being dramatic. *Laughs*
The smell of green pasture's going into my nostrils. The smell of wet green grass is so eye-opening, it wants me to grasp for morethe sweet smell of banana trees, other trees, the smell of cows’ waste and pig feeds; trees from left to right, the smell of smoke. And the radio station I'm listening to is getting choppy.

This could only mean one thing“Province…”

It's 1:37 am, and I'm about to shut my eyes close! But I am fighting my sleepiness.

2:15 am. Too fight the tiredness that I'm feeling, I listened to music, my brother still has the old songs we usually play way back 2009 - 2010. I'm going back to yesteryear! After our sound-trip I got tired. Really tired. My eyes shut, wandering into the land where anything can happen,

Dreamland. . .

I can't remember what I dreamt of but in the middle of my journey in Dreamland, my earthly spirit heard and felt that the engine stopped. Immediately, my eyes are opened . . . still sleepy but anxious.

4:55 in the morning, we are here! Exact location, Peñaranda, Nueva Ecija.
My father's hometown.

 Unpack, unpack!

I'll be sleeping in this hard bed! The mat is made out of dried “buri leaves,” then it's woven diagonally to produce a design. It's called “Banig!” I admit, I miss sleeping in this kind of bed! Hard but comfy!

I'm used to sleeping everywhere, siting. standing, on the car, bus, floor. That's why sleeping here isn't a challenge for me. Some kids my age doesn't like to sleep in this kind of bed, though.

I'm saying random things, I am probably tired.

5:38 in the morning

5:38 am. Editing this article, I can hear dogs barking, roosters crowing. It's not even dark anymore. The sun has probably risen. I mean, the sun has risen. I can already hear my grandmother, cooking, drinking, walking around the kitchen. I just remember that I still have to sleep.

While my siblings are wildly unconscious about what's happening in this world, I'm awake writing my first few hours about what happened today.I turn off the light, *yawn* close my eyes.

Dreamland…

Watch out for part Two!

Make The Most Out of It/My New Blog Button

Enough with the Hunger Games posts for a moment.

I use a laptop waiting for our computer to be fixed.   I need to make a new logo. I said to myself. Well, I can't make one because the editing software that I use is on our broken computer.  ‘But I can't do nothing.’ That only means one thing—I have to make the most out of what I have. ‘Let's see, what do we have here, Microsoft Word, MS Paint . . . MS Paint!’

With MS Paint I have made a new logo for my site! It's not the best but I made the most out of what I have, right?

My new logo! Please look into your right and then look for the Grab My Button!’ Copy the link and post it on your blog! It'd mean a lot, lot, lot! If you have a blog button, I can put it on my blog too!

Friends part 3: Be Trustworthy

37 Barnabas wanted to take John, also called Mark, with them, 38 but Paul did not think it wise to take him, because he had deserted them in Pamphylia and had not continued with them in the work.

(Acts 15:37-38)

Have you ever assured a friend that he could count on you, only to let him down? Paul had that painful experience.

Mark had been thrilled when Paul, the zealous missionary, and his highly respected uncle Barnabas, had invited him to go with them in their journey. But everything fell apart. Mark grew homesick and feared the dangers they might encounter. So the time came when Paul suffered from his missionary efforts, Mark wasn't there to help.

Mark again offered himself to go with them, and promised Paul to be better. But Paul refused.

How do you prove to a friend that, you will never let him down again?

Have you disappointed a friend?

You can't change the past, no matter how painful, but you can choose, to strive hard and regain the trust.

Your words might not convince a friend, but your actions will!-The Experience Book

Question:

If you have disappointed a friend, how will you say sorry?

So Fast!

Two months ago it was January. Fireworks coming out of the sky, some are  red, some are green, most of them are blue. It was a fun filled night. Until a sort of 'party crusher' came, and that fun filled start of the year party was over. God will take vengeance of that party crusher. You know what they say, Let go and Let God!

A month ago, everyone was excited to buy overpriced roses, to make cards for their parents, fiances, loved ones. I didn't make any for my parents though; but my cousin's friend gave me one! Anyways that love day wasn't that special for me, I mean, every day should be love day. Right?

February 29, my Facebook's wall and my Twitter's timeline was flooded with unexpected greetings! In my mind I was thinking, "What's so special with this day of leaping?" *Laughs*

Am I sounding like a villain? I'm opposing every occasion I discuss!

Anyways, I'm really grateful that God has given us another year to enjoy! Although  challenges are always there, "Keep Calm And Pray!"

It's so nice to just stop and rethink the good moments that has happened to you and recall all of the problems and worries you have overcome...

Have a happy month!

I'll be posting part 3 of my 5 part series about friends!

N.I.V. Bibles, "The New Generation Bibles"

Hmm, that was a nice start, "Salutations"!

(Felt like a writer when I typed the word "Salutations".
I hardly use that word.)

Hello again, you are probably questioning yourself, what is NIV?
Well, 'NIV' means, New International Version. NIV Bibles are wonderful types of it.

I like reading NIV Bibles because, they are very easy to read, unlike other Bibles with 'Old English' text, they have complicated words which I barely know.

NIV Bibles are for the 'New Generation', who pretty much just want to read the Bible continuously, without opening their Dictionaries and search for some words.

Oops, I'm not saying that people who understand Bibles with 'Early English words' are old, what I'm trying to say is, NIV Bibles are more, uhm, hmm, it's more,
"Child Friendly"!

While your kids are still young, don't force them to read Bibles with words that are complicated. They might get bored. Sooner, or later, they'll discover words on their own, and find them really helpful! Nowadays I really find 'Old English' words very applicable.

No offense to all the people who is against what I said.
What I wrote is just my opinion.

This is my first article using my iPod touch!

What Bible do you use, and do you find it easy to read?

My Quandary About Cameras, Resolved

My whole life I thought having a nice camera would make you good at taking photos. Well I know you have to be good at it too, but apparently, it's more than that.

Friday, January 3, I watched a modeling show and saw the models' pictures when they were still unedited. Somehow they were quite dimmed.

(Note, the photographer was using an SLR camera that time.)

Twas' then I realized, that editing is a very essential process to make a photo stunning.

"You can't have stunning photos without editing them, and you can be a great photographer with just a digital camera in-hand."

How to Make, Banana Coated in Chocolate & Banana Pudding, topped with Sweetness!

Changed the title, made it a little shorter!

(c) DC Photography

Twelve midnight, while waiting for my parents, this delightful recipe was born.

(c) DC Photography

What you need,

  • 2 pcs of Banana
  • Butter (No need if you have chocolate pudding.)
  • Chocolate/Chocolate Pudding
  • Cinnamon
  • Marshmallows
  • Rice Crispies

If you do not have Chocolate Pudding, this is what you need to do,

First, melt a spoonful of butter and chocolate in a pan

(Tip: you can put any kind of chocolate, like, Kisses, Cadbury, Toblerone, or any chocolate you'll find in a sari-sari store! I prefer Kisses.)

Second,  mash the banana

Third, mix the melted chocolate with the banana pudding.

Fourth, put another banana on a plate, and pour the mixture on it.

Lastly, sprinkle some marshmallows, rice crispies and cinnamon.

(Tip: You can add other toppings, just make sure that it'll taste good!)

Do Popular Things & Worldly Things Matter?

This past few weeks, a message struck me.
 The message was,

"If all of your family, friends and community, turn against God, will you go with them (because everybody's doing it), or stick to what you know is just, right and true?"

I really prayed hard, because I might go with what's popular and worldly.

(But I know it shouldn't be that way.)

Thank God for making me realize that everything in this world doesn't last, and other's opinion doesn't matter.

Our God's command, is what we should listen to and follow wholeheartedly!

He is all we need!

Let us not end up like "The Rich Young Ruler"

"The message below is the rich man's story."

(Luke 18:18-29)

Jesus looked at him and said, “How hard it is for the rich to enter the kingdom of God! 25 Indeed, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.”

26 Those who heard this asked, “Who then can be saved?”

27 Jesus replied, “What is impossible with man is possible with God.”

28 Peter said to him, “We have left all we had to follow you!”

29 “Truly I tell you,” Jesus said to them, “no one who has left home or wife or brothers or sisters or parents or children for the sake of the kingdom of God.

Question:

Are there things you find hard to let go?
Tell me yours and I'll tell mine!

Moses, Joshua and Gideon

The three men I mentioned, are my fave leaders of Israel.

Moses was the first man God spoke to- to lead the Israelites out of slavery, and guide them to the "Promise Land".Although, Moses was living the life he wanted, he still chose to follow God.

Moses was the only person, (until now) that God showed himself to.

After forty years of traveling and leading the grumbling and mourning Israelites in the wilderness, Moses passed away at the age of a hundred and twenty years-old, and passed his duty to Joshua son of Nun.

It must have been hard for Joshua to lead the Israelites, but God was with him just like when God was with Moses.

When God handed the "Promise Land" to Joshua and the Israelites, God let them be successful.

Joshua and his army invaded one land after another, everyone was scared of them.

God was really in their presence.

They lived in peace and success for a lot of years, until the time when Joshua died.

He lived for one hundred and ten years.

When the two leaders passed-away, no one was in charge of Israel.

All of Israel turned back and did wicked things against the Lord.

God was really mad at them and shed His fierce anger in all of Israel.--and came the time when the Israelites cried out to God for help.--God sent an angelic messenger and went to Joash's house, and spoke to his son Gideon.

Now, Gideon asked a sign from the messenger to make sure that he was the next leader of his tribe (or city or community.).

The "Angelic Messenger" left for a moment and returned, the messenger performed a miracle and disappeared. That was the sign that Gideon was the next "God chosen" leader.

The three are my favorite leaders, I enjoy reading their journey. Although sometimes I get bored reading the laws and other thingy's, but I really enjoy reading Exodus-Judges.

At first I put Gilead, instead of Gideon. Pardon me for my mistake.
