The King ♕

There's a King—a King with many names. A very forgiving, fair, loving, but jealous King. We are the King's servants and must do everything to please Him.

Safe? Course he isn’t safe. But he’s good.

There's a book, and inside the book His laws and commandments are all there. If He gives us orders we should follow with our whole mind and being. Maybe you are thinking that it's easy . . . it's not.

And because the loving I am loves us, He gives us tests—tests that will evaluate how much we trust, love and have faith in Him.

Some are hard and will really scrutinize our faith. I have been tested. A lot of times. I have failed, but I always do my incomparable to not fail my most beloved King. It's hard. Yes.

One timea lot of times, actually—I was asked by a mutual servant of the Fair and most High to do  auxiliary work. Exhausted was I; I could easily refuse and say that it's not part of my activity. But, it is said in the law and commandments of the King that you do everything for Him and not for men. Simply, it means even though it's not my task, still, I should do it. After all it's  for the King; for His glory and honor.

Sometimes, I still fail and think that it's not my obligation because, I get ruled by my flesh and another king—a king that also has many names and has nothing in his mind except darkness. But still, we should not give in to his authority for all he offer's momentarily happiness.

If we give in we should always ask the forgiving One to forgive us for we have give in to our flesh. And He will forgive. As long as it is from our hearts.

Our King is a very loving king, but, do not angry Him for He can be very dangerous. As I said.

Many will mock us for following the King but in the end He promises that we won't regret following Him. Stay strong.

I love my most forgiving, fair, loving King . . .{

Book Review: Manga Melech

The Good: What I like about the book is, it explains and it shows you the things you can't understand in the Bible; like how the altars looked like, how they offered sacrifices, etc. personally when I read the part of Moses in the Bible, there were some parts that I didn't understand like how they offered sacrifices as I said earlier and I like that in Manga Melech it's somehow explained.

I would like to make it clear that Manga Melech and the whole Manga Messiah Series are not meant to replace the Bible. The Bible shows more than the series, the Bible explains more than the series. I think that the Manga Messiah Series only takes the highlights of the Bible.

The Bad: The book is kind of rushed, especially Moses' story (Exodus - Deuteronomy). The story of Moses is I think should be the longest, or the one that needs to be explained the most in the book. But it wasn't.

My Review: I really recommend Manga Melech. Since I'm a visual person, I enjoy reading books with a lot of pictures. Though some parts you'll realize that they're going too fast. Well, I guess you can't put the whole story from Moses to David in a book with less than three hundred pages.

The story of Moses was short in Manga Melech, however,  David's story was not that fast paced nor slow paced. Therefore,  the story of David is the one I liked better.

If I could change two things:

  1. I want Moses' story longer.
  2. I want the other stories to be longer.

My Rating: 3.5 ½

Q: Where to buy them?
A: OMF Literature and other Christian Bookstores.

I would like to apologize. When I said that, "I didn't like Manga Melech because it was fast paced." I would like to clarify that it's really meant to be fast paced. I saw the description of this book and it says:

Description:
MANGA MELECH continues the drama of Abraham’s descendants right where MUTINYleaves off.

This is a Biblically accurate Manga retelling of Bible stories beginning with entry into the Promised Land through the rule of King David. This book, fourth in the  Manga line, combines cutting-edge authentic Japanese Manga style with fast-paced storytelling to deliver Biblical truths in a compelling package to an ever changing, post-modern culture.

Though it is fast paced, I still believe that the story of Moses in Manga Melech deserves to be longer.

Friends part 4: My Best Friend!

When you hear the names, Danielle and Dan, what enters your mind?

Some of you may think,
"Twins maybe?"

Well, Danielle and I are kids with different parents, but have a lot in common. And when I say a lot, I mean it!

Danielle and I met in a Homeschool Organization.
One similarity we have is our birthdays, it's so weird, but it lands on the same day and month! Well, I know there are millions of people that have the same birthdate like my friend and I. But you rarely meet people with the same birthday like you do. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Another similarity of ours is, we attend the same Church, CCF and we both have the same beliefs.

Uhm, what else, we both love photography, and very passionate about it.

(My Friend's shot)
(My Shot)

Our shots looks similar!

We like making desserts.

Too bad we don't have an image of our creations.

We are also passionate in blogging.

Another similarity of "OURS" is our looks, we look "MEAN", but it's just our faces not our hearts. *Laughs*.

Danielle also known as Jodie, is one-heck-of-a-friend, I am so thankful that she is my Bestie,

God really gives you the best, friend in the best timing!

She helps me improve my blog, and I help her too!

Recap of our similarities:
  1. Same birthday.
  2. Same Church.
  3. Same beliefs.
  4. Same School. (Duh)
  5. Same grade. (Duh)
  6. Both love photography.
  7. Both love making desserts. (She likes cooking too, but I don't. Random.)
  8. Both love modern country music.
  9. Both passionate about blogging.
  10. Almost same name, Danielle and Dan.

We can still be Besties even if we only see each other seldom.
The picture below is a proof that even if you only see your friend once a week, month, year you can still be "Best-Friends".

Do you have a friend? Of course you do.

Friends part 3: Be Trustworthy

37 Barnabas wanted to take John, also called Mark, with them, 38 but Paul did not think it wise to take him, because he had deserted them in Pamphylia and had not continued with them in the work.

(Acts 15:37-38)

Have you ever assured a friend that he could count on you, only to let him down? Paul had that painful experience.

Mark had been thrilled when Paul, the zealous missionary, and his highly respected uncle Barnabas, had invited him to go with them in their journey. But everything fell apart. Mark grew homesick and feared the dangers they might encounter. So the time came when Paul suffered from his missionary efforts, Mark wasn't there to help.

Mark again offered himself to go with them, and promised Paul to be better. But Paul refused.

How do you prove to a friend that, you will never let him down again?

Have you disappointed a friend?

You can't change the past, no matter how painful, but you can choose, to strive hard and regain the trust.

So Fast!

Two months ago it was January. Fireworks coming out of the sky, some are  red, some are green, most of them are blue. It was a fun filled night. Until a sort of 'party crusher' came, and that fun filled start of the year party was over. God will take vengeance of that party crusher. You know what they say, Let go and Let God!

A month ago, everyone was excited to buy overpriced roses, to make cards for their parents, fiances, loved ones. I didn't make any for my parents though; but my cousin's friend gave me one! Anyways that love day wasn't that special for me, I mean, every day should be love day. Right?

February 29, my Facebook's wall and my Twitter's timeline was flooded with unexpected greetings! In my mind I was thinking, "What's so special with this day of leaping?" *Laughs*

Am I sounding like a villain? I'm opposing every occasion I discuss!

Anyways, I'm really grateful that God has given us another year to enjoy! Although  challenges are always there, "Keep Calm And Pray!"

It's so nice to just stop and rethink the good moments that has happened to you and recall all of the problems and worries you have overcome...

Have a happy month!

I'll be posting part 3 of my 5 part series about friends!

Friends part 2: Letting Them Shine!

After David had finished talking with Saul, Jonathan became one in spirit with David, and he loved him as himself. From that day Saul kept David with him and did not let him return home to his family. 3 And Jonathan made a covenant with David because he loved him as himself. 4 Jonathan took off the robe he was wearing and gave it to David, along with his tunic, and even his sword, his bow and his belt.

(1 Samuel 18:1-4)

Jonathan and David came from two different worlds.

Jonathan was a prince, and could have anything and everything he wanted.

While David, used to sleeping outside their house, watching the stars, because he had a flock to watch.

Jonathan loved David so much. Giving his sword means losing his protection, but Jonathan still gave his sword to David. (Shown in the verse 4)

David was 'God Chosen' King. Although Jonathan was the king's son, Jonathan still let David outshine him and let David rule.

Friends part 1: Be Merciful

Photobucket

"Do you know that feeling when you've hurt your friends and you think they will never forgive you?"

But there are times when they forgive you, right?
It's so thrilling to be given another chance!

Sometimes, in our part, it's so hard for us to forgive our friends,
but you must remember this,

"You'll receive the same measure of mercy you give to your friends."
(Based on Matthew 7:1-2)

"It's always nice to forgive your friends no matter how big or hurting their sin was!"

Making the Best Investment!

Click the photo if you find it hard to read.

Advertisements will make you buy something you don't literally need.
Some advertisements will promise you a 'Perfect' life with their product.

Some advertisements will make you say,
"If I only have a lot of money, I would be the happiest person in the world.".

You'll never be satisfied unless, you are contented with what you have!

Jesus taught, that true happiness comes not from collecting earthly treasures,
but from building up 'Eternal Treasures'.

How to invest in Heaven?

First, deposit your life to God. Depositing your life to God means, surrendering yourself and everything you have to Him.

After depositing, you can earn Heavenly Interest from the Lord,
such as 'Eternal Life' and fruit of the 'Holy Spirit'.

INVESTING IN HEAVEN IS THE BEST INVESTMENT ANY MAN CAN EVER MAKE!

Do Popular Things & Worldly Things Matter?

This past few weeks, a message struck me.
 The message was,

"If all of your family, friends and community, turn against God, will you go with them (because everybody's doing it), or stick to what you know is just, right and true?"

I really prayed hard, because I might go with what's popular and worldly.

(But I know it shouldn't be that way.)

Thank God for making me realize that everything in this world doesn't last, and other's opinion doesn't matter.

Our God's command, is what we should listen to and follow wholeheartedly!

He is all we need!

Let us not end up like "The Rich Young Ruler"

"The message below is the rich man's story."

(Luke 18:18-29)

Jesus looked at him and said, “How hard it is for the rich to enter the kingdom of God! 25 Indeed, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.”

26 Those who heard this asked, “Who then can be saved?”

27 Jesus replied, “What is impossible with man is possible with God.”

28 Peter said to him, “We have left all we had to follow you!”

29 “Truly I tell you,” Jesus said to them, “no one who has left home or wife or brothers or sisters or parents or children for the sake of the kingdom of God.

Question:

Are there things you find hard to let go?
Tell me yours and I'll tell mine!

Moses, Joshua and Gideon

The three men I mentioned, are my fave leaders of Israel.

Moses was the first man God spoke to- to lead the Israelites out of slavery, and guide them to the "Promise Land".Although, Moses was living the life he wanted, he still chose to follow God.

Moses was the only person, (until now) that God showed himself to.

After forty years of traveling and leading the grumbling and mourning Israelites in the wilderness, Moses passed away at the age of a hundred and twenty years-old, and passed his duty to Joshua son of Nun.

It must have been hard for Joshua to lead the Israelites, but God was with him just like when God was with Moses.

When God handed the "Promise Land" to Joshua and the Israelites, God let them be successful.

Joshua and his army invaded one land after another, everyone was scared of them.

God was really in their presence.

They lived in peace and success for a lot of years, until the time when Joshua died.

He lived for one hundred and ten years.

When the two leaders passed-away, no one was in charge of Israel.

All of Israel turned back and did wicked things against the Lord.

God was really mad at them and shed His fierce anger in all of Israel.--and came the time when the Israelites cried out to God for help.--God sent an angelic messenger and went to Joash's house, and spoke to his son Gideon.

Now, Gideon asked a sign from the messenger to make sure that he was the next leader of his tribe (or city or community.).

The "Angelic Messenger" left for a moment and returned, the messenger performed a miracle and disappeared. That was the sign that Gideon was the next "God chosen" leader.

The three are my favorite leaders, I enjoy reading their journey. Although sometimes I get bored reading the laws and other thingy's, but I really enjoy reading Exodus-Judges.

At first I put Gilead, instead of Gideon. Pardon me for my mistake.

Salt Shouldn't Lose Its Flavor.

In the time of Jesus, salt was very important for several reasons.
First, it kept food from rotting. Meat, preserved with salt, would stay more fresh than without.
Second; as to date, salt is used to bring flavor in our food.
Lastly; salt was used for healing, applying salt to a wound would help it heal faster...

(c) DC Photography

Jesus compared us to salt...

We, believers, help preserve people from sin and destruction. Example, you have a friend, and your friend is tempted to sin but you urge your friend not to, with God's Word.

We, believers, also bring flavor to life, by bringing joy and happiness in everything we do!
Lastly;
we are God's instrument of bringing healing to people.
When those who are hurting come to us,
we are committed to share God's love to them.
In doing so,
we help people heal their emotional and spiritual wounds.

GOD'S FAMILY AND OUR MISSION

Have you ever noticed a strong family resemblance between a child and a parent, and you were surprised to discover that the child was adopted?
Even when families adopt a cross-cultural kid, family members can grow to resemble one another.
This is because the similarity isn’t necessarily physical, but it’s behavioral.

Families spend so much time together without realizing that they’ve adapted each other’s behavior

Source: Time Management

God's family is no different, as we spend time reading the Bible, we
adapt the good characteristics God shows us.

(c) DC Photography

And because we have one God, there are some expressions and habits that we have in common.
For example, we start our prayers with the word “Lord”!

And every member of God's family should have a desire to bring peace.
The entire bible is one with peace.

Bringing peace is one hard thing to do, especially if you do not have the “Holy Spirit” in you.

Good thing, we know the Lord, it’ll be easier for us to bring peace because God will teach us what to say and what to do for us to be able to bring peace!

For my blog today, I decided to make hand signs as my illustrations!

Hurry HOME!

Sometimes we think that, Jesus is a punishing Father.

Do you know that feeling when you commit a sin against God and you don't want to talk to Him nor face Him?
(c) DC Photography
If you are procrastinating to talk to Jesus, read this,

18 I will set out and go back to my father and say to him: Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. 19 I am no longer worthy to be called your son; make me like one of your hired servants.’ 20 So he got up and went to his father.
“But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him.

Luke 15:18-20

Jesus is not a reluctant God, He will forgive you not because his Father told him to, but Jesus our "Heavenly Father" will forgive us because He loves us so much and He died for our selfish desires...

So instead of running "away" from Him,
start running "towards" Him!
