I'm Busy.

I'm Busy. The only reason I can think of why I am not writing often anymore is because I am busy, and my creative mentality is preoccupied by a lot of stuff--studies, chores, stuff, more stuff...

I now go to school and I always have tons of homework, that's another reason.

But since I found free time--or free time found me--and I miss writing; here I am, writing something about what I have been up to.

Reading . . .
I have read three books since new year came: Fablehaven Book II, Liesl & Po (I super recommend it!) and my most recent read, The Dopple Ganger Chronicles Book III--I've anticipated for DG Chronicles III for quite some time and I'm glad it didn't disappoint!
Listening . . .
There's this one song I heard from idol . . . it's called Stars!

Eating . . .
Anything on the fridge, and occasionally: McDonald's fries with extra salt (My favorite!)

Wanting . . .
A lot! I want an iPad mini, flashes, backdrops, a camera with an 85mm lens--basically, photography studio stuff! I am kinda enjoying studio photography more than nature, etc . . .
I will be posting--I don't know when--an article about me not using the AutoMode!
Anticipating . . .
I am anticipating for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire official trailer! Also . . . I am anticipating for the movie itself!

Trying . . .
a lot! I am trying to perfect my camera's settings--aperture, shutter speed, ISO, etc . . . I'm kind of getting it but it would take me minutes!

Plans . . .
The teacher asked me and the other students to write an essay about EDSA I and I'm planning to post it here! Also, as I have written earlier, I will be posting an article about me not using the AutoMode anymore. And lastly, I'll write My Thoughts about the Dopple Ganger Chronicles III: The Great Mogul Diamond!

I'm glad because the silence on this little kingdom has been broken! Good bye for now!

My Thoughts: Liesl & Po

Liesl lives in a tiny attic bedroom, locked away by her cruel stepmother. Her only friends are the shadows and the mice—until one night a ghost appears from the darkness. It is Po, who comes from the Other Side. Both Liesl and Po are lonely, but together they are less alone.

That same night, an alchemist’s apprentice, Will, bungles an important delivery. He accidentally switches a box containing the most powerful magic in the world with one containing something decidedly less remarkable.

This book is the most extraordinary children's book I've ever read!

The Good: I am completely astonished by this book. Because the author has this imagination that's beyond anyone's capacity—she thought of places outside the earth universe; she also explained what being in infinity, being soulless, body less, etc...is like!—and that itself made me astonished. The author also explained feelings, feelings you'll be having a hard time explaining.

The Bad: The book includes spiritual beings and worlds, etc . . . Some kids are probably used to reading books with this type of theme . . . But it's better to be sure!

My Thoughts: I think the book took place at the time when there were only a few middle class, most were rich or poor (1800s - 1900s).

As I have said the author amazed me because her ability to write such things—no normal person I think would be able to think such . . . unattainable stuff!

Writing about where the dead go and how to get there; a place called the “other side”; a place as big as the whole universe, it's not under the earth but it's also not anywhere nor everywhere, all I know is it's somewhere . . . I'm having a hard time understanding what I'm writing. *laughs*

(Read the book and you'll probably understand what I'm saying.)

So many characters to watch out for but still, the author managed to tell the story very well. I didn't get confused because the characters were easy to remember. Especially when there are wonderful illustrations included!

The book's fast-paced (I like fast paced books), it will also take you to a lot of places, the characters are easy to remember, the story's well thought—in short, there are a lot of things to like about this book!

The Ending: I absolutely love the ending for the reason that all the characters meet and they all are connected, and not a single character is left un-linked. And I just like it, not a single word you'll read will go to waste!
My Rating: 4.9 (★★★★ 9/10)

P.S. The author wrote the book when she lost her friend, her creative mentality then imagined all the unimaginable things on the book—the ghosts, the places where they go, etc . . .

My thoughts: Fablehaven II: Rise of the Evening Star

At the end of the school year, Kendra and her brother Seth find themselves racing back to Fablehaven, a refuge for mythical and magical creatures. Grandpa Sorenson, the caretaker, invites three specialists to help protect the property from the Society of the Evening Star, an ancient organization determined to infiltrate the preserve and steal a hidden artifact of great power. Time is running out. If the artifact falls into the wrong hands, it could mean the downfall of other preserves and possibly the world.

I know I don't have an article written about the first book of the Fablehaven Series, but I just want to share my thoughts about this…intense, action packed, humorous, action packed (I just have to say it again!) adventure, kid's book.
---

The Good: There're a few things I really liked: (1) the author described the characters, their actions, the places, things, etc nicely—not too vague but also not too substantial. (2) The words the author used are rich and colorful don't get me wrong, though, you still don't have to read the book beside a dictionary.

The Bad: the start was a bit slow for me; while I was reading the first few chapters I was thinking that the first book was definitely better…well, I was wrong.

My Thoughts: Fablehaven II is one of the most thrilling children's book I've ever read. Both in book I and II Fablehaven will be in danger; I was thinking that we're going to start all over again; Fablehaven will be in danger, it will be saved. . .blah blah—like what the other series do—well, I was wrong, again.

The second book for me was more intense, heart stopping and action packed compared to the first; I don't know why but my guess is it's because the stakes were much higher, they were dealing with stronger enemies and Fablehaven wasn't completely saved and all that.

A lot of people got sick some almost died, a lot of secrets were exposed, you don't know who the rebels are . . . in short, there are a lot of twists to keep you reading.

When I was just starting to read I only read one chapter a day because like what I said: the start was kind of boring—for me at least—but when the climax was peaking that was when my two sleepless nights started. In return I got a headache. Although I wouldn't say that it was worth it—because I don't like having headaches—I was glad that I finished the book.

The Ending: A big cliffhanger you'll definitely want to read the third book!

My Rating: 4.5 (★★★★ ½)

P.S. Fablehaven II: Rise of the Evening Star was a pleasure reading!
P.P.S. This is my first book review this year, and after a while . . .

Adventure in Reading

Reading is an adventure for the reason that it takes me to places. It has taken me
to the past and future.

Reading has also taken me to Europe, America, New Zealand. Uhm, God's chosen land, Israel, Judah—I saw God's Temple there—and other breathtaking locations that are still vivid on my mentality.

To make my adventure more enjoyable, intense, heart-stopping, I go to a place or room where I am companionless and the only lit up item is the book that I am reading.

But it's not just that. You could also read while God's creation, the stupendously enormous, wonderfully bright and admirable sunlight is striking your book just
—perfectly! Or maybe you could read at a green, leafy, bushy, full of trees park; and while sitting on a swing or bench—mm, I can smell the scentless but reposeful wind already.

Such simple things, yet, it can make my reading experience realistic. Besides, car-rides, boat-rides—even plane-rides cannot take you to the past nor the future. Only books can; you just have to use your eyes, creative mentality and of course—your fingertips . . .

When I read I just go out in the real world and enter a whole new world!

How about you. Why do you like to read? Because you get out of this world, like me? Whatever it is I want to know!
