Friends part 3: Be Trustworthy

37 Barnabas wanted to take John, also called Mark, with them, 38 but Paul did not think it wise to take him, because he had deserted them in Pamphylia and had not continued with them in the work.

(Acts 15:37-38)

Have you ever assured a friend that he could count on you, only to let him down? Paul had that painful experience.

Mark had been thrilled when Paul, the zealous missionary, and his highly respected uncle Barnabas, had invited him to go with them in their journey. But everything fell apart. Mark grew homesick and feared the dangers they might encounter. So the time came when Paul suffered from his missionary efforts, Mark wasn't there to help.

Mark again offered himself to go with them, and promised Paul to be better. But Paul refused.

How do you prove to a friend that, you will never let him down again?

Have you disappointed a friend?

You can't change the past, no matter how painful, but you can choose, to strive hard and regain the trust.

Your words might not convince a friend, but your actions will!-The Experience Book
